School school school

Welcome to IS 141 Q
School school school!

I love school.
How about you?
So much to learn and study, and new friends as well.

Well, with all the homeworks and endless reading :), school can be overwhelming.
But I do enjoy it as I meet wonderful teachers, great friends, a lot of new knowledge and skills and more. There will always be something new every day.

As I have finished my 5th grade in PS 122, I moved to IS 141 in Astoria.
I really love my class.
We are part of Jewel class under the supervision of Ms. Williams.
My home teacher is Ms. Trotta and she is super nice.

Welcome to IS 141 Astoria

Now that I have moved to Indonesia, here are some photos my mom took in my beloved IS 141 Astoria as I enjoyed my days as the 6 grader.

Got the award, yeah..

With mama :)

Receiving the award on my 6th grade :)
My mom kept taking pictures wherever we go.
Well, I guess that's what moms do, right.
They just don't want to miss the moments.

I have to admit I miss my friends, my teachers and my schools there in NYC.
There are so many differences from our school there and here in Indonesia and my sister and I continue to adjust ourselves.
It was not that easy in the beginning but now we get used to it.
I know now that wherever you go, the school will always wait for you and you just need acknowledged the fact that life will always be changing.
We need to be flexible and try to do our best.

How about you?
Do you like your school?
What's your favorite subjects?

I'm back!

Lampung, our home town in Indonesia :)

Woaaah...
It's been a looong time since my last blog!
Apologies, everyone...being an IS student is not that easy obviously.
Tons of homework, endless reading, volunteer works and socializing seem to be overwhelming but I kind of enjoying it up until now :).
Well, school is cool as always but I do have busy days.

And a lot of things have been going in between.

We have crazy winter in  NYC, even up until April it's still cold.
My sister and I are back to watching Pokemon series, after finishing Teen Titans Go and Gumball.
I have finished reading the whole series of Percy Jackson (he's super cool! try to read the books!) and now I started reading the Kane Chronicles, from the same author (Thanks mom for convincing me how cool it is, reminding of our trip to Egypt back in 2010)
I also joined the Honor Roll Society *yeaaaah and will join the trip to Philadelphia with my friends in May! How cool is that :)

My mom bought me Pokemon Ball from Japan :)

And we are heading  back to Indonesia this summer.
I feel sad already :(.
I mean, it's a mixed feeling.
I love staying here in NYC but I now we have to move back, just like what happened to us after staying in Geneva, Switzerland, for 4 years.

But hey...Indonesia is super cool and the weather is always nice!
So we can make up the lost spring and summer there :)
Can't wait to go to the beaches as well in Lampung, our hometown.

Anybody wants to join me swimming here!

But now, I think I can start sharing some more stories and photos!
You know how my mom loves taking pictures soooo much LOL.

I don't mind going back to Bali, Indonesa, with  my family :)

So, see you on the next post!

Back to school and welcome IS year!

Summer break is gone!

Just like that.

Well, not really.
I had so much fun during the summer break, mostly with my sister, my mom, and my 2 grannies.
My dad as well, although he went to Jakarta, Indonesia, our homeland, in August.

We went to places, mostly with my mom.
She has so many events to attend and we usually join her.

Then the time came for school.
The first day of school.
6th Grade, here I come!

I am super excited of course, as it will be my first time at the Intermediate School.
And IS is not elementary school for sure!
I don't know what 6th Grade will be but I hope it will be fun.
Some of my friends go to the same school as mine, but many go to different IS or private.
Well, I guess I will have new friends and have fun with them.

IS is also different because the school gave me the Metro Card.

I take the bus home myself!
My mom usually rides the bus with me in the morning and I go home myself as my mom has to work.
My grandma takes my sister to her school, my old PS.

And we have more homework as well.
It makes me work on them  a lot of time but it's good that it keeps me busy.
We also have career class, when we discuss about the future and the choices I might have.
As always, we study about math, social study - my fave!, and ELA.
I hope it won't be that difficult.

Well, 6th grade is not that bad after all.

Ola, my dad gave me this watch for me as a gift!
It keeps me informed with the time for sure.
Love it!

How is your back to school time?
Hope it's as great as mine!

G.R.A.D.U.A.T.I.O.N

The time has come!

We finally finished our 5th grade.
That means we finished our elementary school here in NYC.

It has been such a wonderful experience for me.
I learned a lot!
I love my friends and my teachers.
I love the school and all its staff.
I love my trips.
I love everything.

It was a bitter sweet feeling when we realized that we had finished our days on the fifth grade.
Exciting for the summer break.
Sad that I won't meet some of my friends.

Well, some of them go the same IS with me.
But it's going to be different.

On the Graduation Day, my mom and my dad came.
They lined up early in the morning to get good seat.
They brought me balloon and dancing owl.
Rad!

We also had the farewell for Mrs. Sabel, our principal!
She is such a wonderful principal and we all wish her all the best.

thank you Mrs. Sabel.

I was surprised when they called me to the podium and I was awarded with State of New York Attorney General Award for Triple C Award, Commitment, Character, and Courage.

It has been a great experience.

Thank you to all my teachers and friends.
Everyone in PS 122.
My family as well!

And all the best for 6th grad!

5th Grade Trip to Yankee Stadium

Have you visited Yankee Stadium?

I have!

And I went there together with my friends from the 5th grade, my class 5-510.
It was really a fun trip.
We took the bus from school, everybody was so ready to explore.

Yankee Stadium is super cool!
I haven't really played baseball but looking at this giant stadium make me feel so great!

We had a tour guide telling us about the history of this place.
And some great players New York Yankees, like Babe Ruth, as well as some important people who had been working very hard to make NY Yankees great!

We saw the field and again it was huge!

We certainly had so much fun there!
My teachers and the other 5th grade class, 5-512, were enjoying it, too.
Here are some of our group photos.

Yankee Stadium is a great place indeed!
Will you visit this place?

The Tests

Something special came in April.

Can you guess what it is?

It's the tests.
ELA and Math tests.
For two weeks we would be having these tests at school.

For me, it would be the second time.
Last year, I had it for the first time.
in 2014, I didn't have it because it was the first year that I came to school in NYC

I think I can do the test.
Well, at least I tried to answer all the questions.

Mama and Bapak gave me a lot of extra exercise before the test.
I guess it helped.
At least I can try and get used to the test.

Even though the paper said that your child needs to rest and not study,
and I lost all my TV and video game time!

The questions on the test were not that hard,
but the only thing I hated was the article.
It was long and sometimes it has difficult words.
I hope I made a good mark for it :).

The good thing is, after the test we will have spring break!
That means holiday, yaaay.

But in the spring brake we went to Canada and its
kind of boring, at least I made it.

I will tell you more on the next post, okay.

Hope you all have a great break as well!
